KUALA LUMPUR: Privasia Technology Bhd via Konsortium Apex - Privasat has secured two contracts worth a collective total of about RM1.2bil from the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (MCM).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the ICT company said MCM had on Oct 6 issued the acceptance to the tender offered by Konsortium Apex - Privasat.
The joint venture is between Apex Communications Sdn Bhd and Privasat Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Privasia.
The contracts signed by Konsortium Apex - Privasat entails the installation of fibre optics and maintenance of fibre optic infrastructure in surrounding schools, residential, business, commercial and industrial premises under Phase 2 of the expansion of broadband infrastructure using the point of presence (PoP) method.
The contracts will cover the Southern region (Negeri Sembilan, Melaka & Johor) and Northern region (Kedah and Perak) and are worth RM627.18mil and RM617.51mil respectively.
The duration of the contracts is for 96 months, where the implementation shall be completed in 36 months and followed by a 60 months warranty period.
“The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings, and net assets of Privasia for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022 and beyond. Notwithstanding this, the contract is not expected to have any material effect on the share capital and shareholding structure of Privasia,” Privasia said.
